Brief
Toni graduated with a Bachelor’s in Biology and a Master’s in Genetics from the University of Barcelona in Spain. He then moved to St. George’s Hospital, University of London, where he gained experience in cell biology and microscopy. He obtained a PhD in immunology and metabolism at Imperial College London under the supervision of Jacques Behmoaras. He then gained post-doctoral experience in the Department of Infectious Disease at Imperial College London, where he studied macrophage metabolism pathways regulating the inflammasome.
Toni was a research fellow carrying out translational research on the role of macrophages in ageing and metabolic diseases. He has since left to join NUS Physiology as a Lecturer at the Academy for Healthy Longevity.
