Kunal presented a poster on his work on SPP1 macrophages and Lupus Nephritis at the HCA GM this year!

A review by Jacques just got published at Nature Reviews Immunology. This comprehensive review offers a powerful “handbook” of immune cell behaviour, spotlighting macrophages as key culprits driving fibrosis. He coauthored this review with Prof. Enrico Petretto, another PI at Duke-NUS.

Recently, one of our new joiners, Xiaoting, was selected to give a talk at the Singapore Society for Immunology 2025 Symposium. It was held from 28-30th May at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (Novena Campus) in Singapore.
2024

Toni presented his poster in November at the 16th Duke-NUS Early Career Scientist Association Symposium (DUNES), a vibrant day filled with insightful discussions. The symposium also featured the work of early career scientists from Duke-NUS, the School’s parent institutions Duke University and NUS, as well as the Cancer Science Institute of Singapore, with prizes awarded for excellence in poster and oral scientific presentations. Toni won the runner-up prize for his poster.

Ning and Kunal presented their work at the CVMD internal programme seminar. Ning shared updates on his PhD project on Macrophage immunometabolism in the cave nectar bat, and Kunal talked about his project on systems genetics in diabetic nephropathy.

Congratulations to Kunal and Toni for their success at the 2024 Duke-NUS Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases Symposium! Kunal won the Best Oral Presentation Prize for his talk on Systems Genetics in Diabetic Nephropathy, and Toni received the Runner-up Poster Prize for his work on hepatic iron accumulation and GSPE during aging. Well done to both!
